C has just started to crawl and it's become the best motivator there ever was!
The kid will really move to get after this ball.
It makes for a good game of peek-a-boo too!
Of course we love just rolling it around. And he seems to really like the texture of it.
It's also good for a mean game of pass when he's in the stroller. It's probably more accurately described as baby drops the ball and mommy picks it up (ie. the pick-up game) but I prefer to think of it as pass ;)
Some might see this as just another toy, but what I see is a symbol of classic childhood.
A reminder of a time when one can find pure joy in the simple things.

With that in mind. I hope you are all "Havin' a Ball" this week!

I see this ball and I instantly think of childhood. A staple childhood toy for sure. I remember many dodge ball games played with these :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how one simple object can take you back so far in your head :) Love the big red ball! (and I remember dodge ball well too!)
DeleteI'm always blown away by your gorgeous photos! You beautifully captured the magic of a big red ball.
ReplyDeleteAw, Thank you Malia, you have no idea how much that comment means to me :) Thank you!
DeleteWhat a sweet post. Love the photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bethany!
DeleteAdorable! My oldest (20 months) has been a ball kid from the get go. I love how something so simple can make kids so happy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsey! Sometimes it's the simplest things that really do bring the most joy.
DeleteWhere did you get his soccer ball pants?
ReplyDeleteThose my friend are Babylegs leg warmers! Luv them :)
DeleteLook at that look of concentration. Lovely post. My son had a red ball when he was tiny too. Thanks for linking to Kids Co-op
ReplyDeleteThank you :) Yes, he's a very serious child sometimes. I'd like to know what's going on in his little mind!
DeleteMy friend has a 10 month old and was asking me what kind of stuff I used to do with my son. I couldn't remember so I just emailed her the whole of your Baby play label. What a great bunch of ideas.
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you!! :)
DeleteI love your images! What type of camera do you use? Have you had formal training or are you a natural talent? :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Marnie! That means a lot. I'm my own worst critic so anytime someone compliments my photography I'm thrilled! I have done a lot of studying but no formal training. My brother is extremely talented when it comes to nature photography so I've learned a lot from him. I have a Canon 60D.
DeleteI'm loving those leggings! Great photo of him eyeing up the ball. Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amie! Yes, I looove the baby legs. They are just too cute!
DeleteI was wondering where did you get that ball? What size is it, I have been looking for one for my little guy and have had no luck.
ReplyDeleteHi there :) I picked this up at a store in our area called Five Below. I have no idea if it's a national chain or not. I think these on amazon are about the same size. Hope that helps! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi again :) I just found this link (below) and they have all different sizes for you to choose from. I'm not sure if ours is an 8 inch or 6 inch, but there are some great options here.
